Mcafee clients not updating
I searched Mc Afee's website and Googled it as well as searching Experts-Exchange.No luck finding a step by step process for pushing out an update. Greatly appreciate any help :-) Very easy to do, simply create an update task from within e Po saying update all products Then set it to run immediately, and then wake up all agents by choosing system tree, change the group drop down to this group and all subgroups, check all machines and click wake up agents Make sure you have checked the updates in to the master repository first Cheers Si Thank you for the reply. The only machine which appear to be up-to-date is the e PO Server itself, all other machines are not succesfull in retrieving the updates.I tried to manually install the latest SDAT on the servers (not the workstation), because we need it protected asap. The Scan Engine stays 5100.0194 and the Virus DAT version 4893. Also it seems Site Advisor isn't installed, which is strange because it's scheduled in the same task as the deployment of VSE8.5i. You should be able to update from the master repository (e PO server) just fine.Make sure that the repository is updated by running the pull task.Typically, I have to do 3 to 4 cycles of all of the above steps to get the machines to react properly.I don't know why this occurs the way it does..just does.
Now the next question is: will installing this hotfix fix the already broken installations or will I still need to find a way to uninstall it first and then reinstall the new agent?I have installed e PO 4.0 on a 2003 Server and checked in the packages for Virus Scan 8.5i, VSE8.5i Patch 3 and Site Advisor Enterprise 1.5.
